The Sick & Indigent Roomkeepers Society

Dublin’s oldest charity - assisting people in need.

A trusted brand over three centuries, the Sick & Indigent Roomkeepers Society (est. 1790) continues to fulfil its core mission of helping Dublin-based homeowners and renters (Roomkeepers) keep a roof over their heads and maintain a dignified standard of living.

Enabling people to get their lives back on track following disruption due to illness, abandonment, or job loss, we provide once-off stop-gap funding that other agencies cannot meet.

What We Do

We Can

Help families set up home to purchase essentials such as bedding, white goods, a kitchen table, and flooring.
Assist with personal development by contributing towards IT equipment or final-year fees for people trying to make a fresh start with their lives.
Help fund timely educational or psychological assessments for children.

Times have changed but the need for shelter and support for families in Dublin is ever present.

Applications for assistance are supported by registered social workers. This ensures all cases are vouched for in advance of assessment by our trustee team.
With low overheads and a volunteer board, donors can be assured that their funding will go further and directly to supporting those in need.
